About Community Managers International Association

CMIA is open to full time on-site community association managers, senior managers and a limited number of affiliates, who  service homeowner associations. The objective of CMIA is to provide an environment for the exchange of ideas and member services and to work with national/state organizations to improve the community association management profession. CMIA also promotes a variety of services to community association managers, including job placement information on its website www.CMIAManager.org, assistance with attaining professional designations, compensation/property surveys and other services.

CMIA Services

Annual Workshop

The CMIA Annual Workshop was created in 1999 as means for community association manager members to observe best practices and provide seminars in all the aspects of managing and operating a common interest development (CID). The annual workshop provides a quality, hands-on experience for community managers as well as extensive networking opportunities.

Compensation & Property Profile Surveys

CMIA conducts Compensation and Property Profile Surveys to enable you to compare the size of your operation to others of similar size (whether it be financial or physical) and determine whether your community’s range of compensation is appropriate.  All CMIA members receive a copy of the survey results at no additional cost (non-members pay a fee to receive survey results).

Master Community Manager Designation (MCM)

CMIA also provides a registered designation known as the MCM, which is based on proven experience as an on-site manager combined with formal college education and/or achievement of designations or completion of educational courses from other related professional organizations. Once you have received an MCM there is no yearly administration fee and continuing education

credits from all related organizations count toward CEUs.
